Wonder Woman 1984: Patty Jenkins speaks about Diana working at the Smithsonian and why Cheetah and Maxwell Lord team up

Wonder Woman 1984 starring Gal Gadot may have been delayed amid coronavirus pandemic but there's already pre-shot content that is being released now since the film was supposed to hit the big screen in June. Patty Jenkins recently spoke to Empire magazine about what Diana Prince is up to in the latest installment.

According to the magazine, Patty Jenkins revealed that Wonder Woman 1984 will open with Diana working at the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C. The reason being she is keeping an eye on the artifacts that could turn out dangerous. “It’s a world with other gods and other lores,” Patty shared.

In the movie, Kristen Wiig and Pedro Pascal play Cheetah and Maxwell Lord, respectively. But, what makes them team up against Wonder Woman? “What makes Barbara turn into Cheetah is feeling like she’s never been as good as someone like Diana,” Patty further explained. “She reminds me of certain people I’ve known who have such low self-confidence, that they’re always holding themselves back. Then once they start to embrace change, out comes this ugly resentment built up over all those years.”

Wonder Woman 1984, starring Gal Gadot and Chris Pine in the leading roles, was postponed in March until August 2020 in the wake of Coronavirus pandemic that has spread around the world. On March 24, the studio announced that the sequel to the hit 2017 DC Comics movie will be postponed until August 14, 2020. The movie was originally scheduled to come out on June 5.
