Amid nationwide lockdown, Manoj Bajpayee is keeping himself stationed at Uttarakhand with his family. He was shooting for a web project when the lockdown was announced. Luckily, his wife Shabana and daughter Ava had accompanied him so they chose to stay back amid the global health crisis. In the meanwhile, he will celebrate his 51st birthday on April 23 with his family and he said that it can’t get any better than spending time in the hills. He goes out on a short trek and reads books occasionally since one can’t go further than his compound due to restrictions.
Speaking of films, he recently wrapped up Abhishek Sharma’s Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari. The actor said that this lockdown has come as a blessing for the director who really likes to pen scripts when he is alone. He told Sharma already that he would like to be associated with him on future projects too.
He also praised his co-stars Fatima Sana Shaikh and Diljit Dosanjh with whom he stays in touch via video calls. He said that Fatima comes from a middle-class background and that even though she has seen success every early on in her career, she has held onto her values. Speaking of Diljit, the actor further said that he stays silent most of the time but can pull up a fast on you. He said that he is a huge star up North and true Punjabi at heart.
Produced by Zee Studios, Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari, a family comedy set in the 90’s Mumbai, also stars Diljit Dosanjh and Manoj Bajpayee and is slated to release in the second half of the year.
